Delaware to Ashland

Well...we made it to Richmond. Actually we are in Ashland (about 15 miles north of Richmond). This time we're in a KOA (Richmond KOA) just off I-95. We had an easy drive (about 3.5 hours) and got here about 3:30pm Sunday afternoon. Got set up, went to the store and were sitting under the awning with margarita's in hand by 6:00pm.

We got a later start than we'd hoped. The advertisers in Delaware finally came through, but it was not easy. We ended up working all day Saturday. Then worked until 3:00am Sunday morning getting all the paper work done. Since this was the first time Cedar Creek had done a brochure, Terry had more paperwork than usual. In the end, he did really well ...and I think both the park and Tom (Terry's boss) were pleased with his efforts.

Anyway, now we have a beautiful, very quiet and wooded site in the back (away from the interstate).

It's a beautiful little park with just over 100 sites (with about 50 more being built). The sites are nicely spaced and there are huge trees EVERYWHERE. It's not as spacious as a state park, but almost as wooded. After 2 weeks spent basically in an open, empty field, I can't tell you how nice it is to be back under the trees. Other than a quick trip to Wal Mart, we haven't seen much of the area yet....but it looks really nice.....much like Williamsburg. We spent part of last evening doing laundry in the park's laundry room....shooting pool between loads in the adjacent game room. Wish more laundries would figure that one out!!

We are enjoying this....and are hopeful we can make it work. After success at 2 parks...we are a bit more confident too. We do miss Texas and visits with M&D, Alma and the kids. As we walk the parks in the evening we find ourselves looking out for Texas plates....we haven't seen many. We actually saw one during our walk Sunday night, but turned out they were from Louisiana....only the RV was from Texas. M&D and Alma are planning a trip to Jacksonville, FL in October....hopefully we will be in that area and can meet up.
Well, that's all the news for now. Email when you can ....we really love hearing from everybody.
