The Saga Begins

Well, so far so good.  We left Granbury about 8:00 yesterday morning and made it as far as Forrest City, AR (about 40 minutes west of Memphis) last night.  Found a beautiful state park (Village Creek State Park) and snagged a campsite right next to a creek.

We took a walk about the loop (which felt great after a day of driving), made a simple dinner with a bottle of our favorite wine. Then opened all the windows, snuggled down and slept great! Right now we are just west of Knoxville and have reservations at a private park about an hour from here. I managed to get reservations for tomorrow and Saturday at a state park just outside of Richmond, VA. We were pretty concerned about getting a site since it's Easter weekend and the weather is looking pretty nice. That will put us just a hour away from our RV park in Williamsburg. So we'll have a leisurely drive on Sunday.

The weather has been perfect....warm and sunny. The spring flowers are spectacular! Bradford pears, red buds, daffodils...you name it. It's really pretty.

We are in the smokies right now and just came over a pass with an incredible vista...WOW!!!

More later!
